Your role & responsibilities
Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes.
Identify opportunities for inventory reductions and inventory optimization through the study of part usage and back order trends.
Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
Enter logistics-related data into databases.
Develop or maintain payment systems to ensure the accuracy of vendor payments.
Regulate packaging requirements for storage and transportation. This is different from packaging design and engineering.
Work with planners to rule out parts availability and replenishment.
Track product flow from origin to final delivery.
Prepare reports on logistics performance measures.
Maintain databases of logistics information.
Maintain logistics records in accordance with corporate policies and trade compliance requirements.
Communicate with or monitor service providers, such as warehouse service providers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, or domestic trucking companies.
Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency or minimum cost.
Provide ongoing resolution in areas such as warehouse handling and storage costs, back orders, or delivery processes.
Manage systems to ensure that pricing structures adequately reflect logistics costing.
Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, or inventory integrity.
Develop or maintain models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting.
Confer with logistics management teams to actuate ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
Compute reporting metrics, such as warehouse handling cycle time, order fulfillment rates, or inventory turns.
Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, judicious sourcing or distribution, supplier management, or transportation.
Apply sound methods or tools to understand, anticipate, or control logistics operations or processes.
Assess logistics data, using methods such as data mining, data modeling, or cost or benefit study.
Remotely monitor the transportation using Web-based logistics information systems to track packages.
Coordinate with the Transportation team to reorganize shipping schedules to consolidate loads to reduce freight costs while balancing fulfillment cycle time.
Route or reroute freight in real-time through coordination with the freight forwarder for exception handling or for operational efficiencies.
Monitor warehouse storage and coordinate with planners on aged inventory to reduce storage space to minimize cost.

About you
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Good team skills to be able to work with others (across all related departments or functions that have a direct or indirect impact on the area of work that affects order to delivery)
Good resource deployment and planning skills.
Ability to multitask.
Good knowledge of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain knowledge.
Good MS Office skills.
