The Scrum Master I is accountable for establishing Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide by helping everyone understand Scrum theory and practice, both within the 1 to 2 Scrum teams he/she is assigned to and the organization, which is essential to the success of Entrego’s company-wide Agile transformation initiative starting with Technology.
Responsibilities:
- To shadow and learn from the Scrum Master the basics of facilitation of the active use of Agile and Scrum events among product teams
- Facilitate the active use of Agile and Scrum practices, values, and events within 1 to 2 Scrum teams
- Coach 1 to 2 Scrum teams on self-management, cross-functionality, and continuous self-improvement to fill in the gaps left in the Agile methodology and Scrum framework practices
- Assess the Agile and Scrum Maturity of 1 to 2 Scrum teams and coach them to reach and maintain higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace
- Remove impediments encountered by 1 to 2 Scrum teams
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing, respect, and problem-solving
- Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work, teaching the Scrum team members to do the same
- Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution that are healthy, positive, and productive
- Assist with internal and external communications, promoting and improving transparency, and radiating information
- Support and educate the Product Owners, especially on Product Backlog management and maintenance
- Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership stance whenever possible, and leading by example
Required Skills/Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, programming, education (with strong technical background) or any related field
- One to 2 years of experience working with Agile product teams in actively developing software
- Some experience as a Scrum Master for 1 Scrum team preferred, but not required
- Experience working with cross-functional and cross-border teams
- Note: The entries above can be offset by a proven strong knowledge of both Agile and Scrum or by a PSM I certification

- A proactive attitude, having the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to build good rapport with people regardless of position

- Good skills and working knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Excellent verbal and written communication (Filipino and English), teaching, coaching, mentoring, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
