Application Process & Interviews at Aurecon PH

8.9
8.9 rating for Recruitment, based on 10 reviews
Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Everything is pretty seamless. My only issue is the radio silence after the initial screening even after reaching out for any update. Also, the official starting date was different from what I was initially told and I only found out about the change in the contract.

The interview process was smooth and I was guided on each step of the process. I was reached through phone calls and emails, and the recruitment team are very approachable. First, I was notified through phone call about the receipt of my application and for initial interview. Upon confirming that I was considered for the position, I was told that I will be having a video interview with the Team Leader. The interview was very conversational that I felt listened to and inspired not just to get into the company, but also to push through with my dream job no matter the outcome of the interview. Afterwards, we were invited to a face-to-face interview at the office and were given a tour and orientation.

The overall recruitment/hiring process took a longer time than expected, but I can say that everything went smoothly. Every part of the process was on track and instructions were clear and organized.

The orientation before the interview was really helpful in building up an image of the company to us applicants and helped us have a more casual approach to the company. As for the interview, as much as it was tense, the interviewer was very amicable, which further reinforced the casual nature of the process.

Aurecon introduced the different practice groups under GDC and asked as us to choose which practice groups we would like to part of. The Team Leaders of each group then assess our capability through interview.

From what I remember, the interview process went well. They also arranged an orientation in the office to present the work they do so that applicants would have a better idea of the company in general. My only issue about the hiring/recruitment process was the pre-employment medical exam, they didn't provide clear enough instructions which led me to spending an amount that I thought I'd get back through reimbursement.

The interview process at Aurecon was particularly convenient for me, especially as someone from the province. They conducted my interviews through MS Teams, which made it hassle-free and efficient. This virtual approach eliminates the need for long commutes or travel expenses, allowing candidates to participate from the comfort of their own homes. As long as you follow the provided instructions and answer their questions with confidence, the process is straightforward. It's evident that Aurecon has adapted well to modern technologies, ensuring a smooth experience for all candidates, regardless of their location. The convenience of online interviews also reflects Aurecon's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. It enables them to tap into a wider talent pool and ensures that every candidate has an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and qualifications without the logistical challenges of in-person interviews. Overall, my interview experience with Aurecon was seamless and professional. The use of MS Teams not only made the process more accessible but also demonstrated the company's forward-thinking approach and its ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of remote recruitment.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
* What field I'm interested in * How do you use your free time * What software can you use and rate your skills on them * Are you comfortable with the flexible setup
Graduate, Manila - 28 Aug 2024
In the initial interview, I was asked which team I was interested to join (rail and mass transit team). I was also asked about my strengths, my current employment at the time (construction industry), the software I use, and my salary expectation. In the video interview, I was asked to tell my story, why I wanted to join the rail and mass transit team, and more like a getting-to-know type of conversation. The face-to-face interview was almost the same. I was asked what my interests / hobbies were and how my current employment at the time was.
Graduate, Manila - 28 Aug 2024
Common and expected questions were asked during my interviews, but one thing that separated Aurecon from other employers is that they presented various field/options for expertise, and they let me decide what to pursue. This experience led me closer to my expectations and interests.

Background, software used, soft and technical skills, how I deal with certain situations

On the initial interview, I was asked questions about what discipline do I prefer to go to, and also some expectations about the company. When I went to do the second (and I guess final) interview, they asked me to explain why I chose my discipline, and what I know about it. They also asked my hobbies, and also some expectations that I have with the company.

The questions I was asked during my interview reflect Aurecon's comprehensive approach to understanding each candidate's experience, preferences, and problem-solving abilities. Here are the questions and a brief overview of each: What is your preferred team/field? What did you do in your internship/OJT? Did you experience any hurdles during your internship? How did you manage the problem? These are just the questions that I remembered but sure there are more technical question asked to me during the process that are designed not only to understand my technical capabilities but also to get a sense of my character, problem-solving approach, and how well I might integrate into the team. Answering them with confidence and specific examples can show the interviewers that I am well-prepared and a good fit for the role and the company culture at Aurecon.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Make sure you know what you're applying for. If you already have a specific field you are interested in, I think it would be good to research about it and how that field is approached in the company. Take note of the company's values as well and assess if you fit them. Don't be nervous on any of the interview. Just treat it like getting to know each other so make sure you also have some questions prepared to know the company and its culture better.
