Your role

The Design Evaluation Engineer is responsible for the evaluation and characterization of various devices in the Isolation Business unit using bench-top equipment, custom eval board, and test software. He/she will be working with design, test development, and other groups to check for possible design flaws and device improvements if possible. His/her activities will involve test software development, eval board hardware development, bench-top test solution creation, and debug experimentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a schematic of the design eval board and work with the PCB team to finalize the PCB layout.
  • Develop various automation test software as needed to interface with bench-top equipment.
  • Perform different IC characterization, road tests, functional tests, the part tests to fully characterize the product and detect flaws.
  • Create reports that would accurately and efficiently summarize fault detection, isolation, and resolution (if applicable) whenever device flaws, faults, or bugs were observed.
  • Create clear documentation on test methods, test software, and design eval activities.
  • Coordinate with other groups (reliability, failure analysis, PCB, planning, project management, design, test development) when necessary.
  • Formulate the design of experiments, execute them, and analyze the results to properly understand device failure modes to help design fix the problem or help test development engineers apply a relevant test screen.

About you

  • BS or MS in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any related course
  • LabVIEW or Python programming knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with using different bench-top lab equipment like DMM, SMU, Oscilloscope, and Function generator is an advantage.
  • A good foundation in basic electronics knowledge is essential.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated, with initiative, dependable, effective communicator, and willing to learn.
